Welcome to another week of On Your Plate, and some amazing creations from Kate’s kitchen. Kate and I spent the last weekend at the Home and Better Living Show at the Pettigrew Green Arena in Napier. It was a great show, and I really enjoyed showing the people who attended what we do, and how we do it.
It also gave us the chance to meet some of our wonderful customers face to face and find out what they love about our service and also some valuable feedback on where we could do slightly better. The number of people that didn’t know that there was a local alternative to the out of town food box services was staggering, and we had many people very interested in supporting the local producers. We had a stand at the show showcasing the products and suppliers that we use, and the reaction from the public was outstanding. Hawke’s Bay really is a community that loves to support local!
Our menu this week really highlights the citrus flavours, with orange, mandarin and lime all making appearances. The weather is really cooling down, and the vegetable selection is shrinking, so the addition of these fruits really ramps up the flavour in the dishes. I hope you enjoy the meals this week and look forward to next week’s menu!
