Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pause or resume a subscription?

Once you've logged in to your account, click on ‘manage subscriptions’, click your subscription plan and press ‘Pause’ or 'Resume'. Click on this link to watch a video

IMPORTANT!
Take note of the day your subscription payment comes out before you pause it. When you resume your subscription, payments will recur on the same day as before. Also be aware you need to pause and resume payments the week before they are due to come out in order to get the following Sunday's delivery.

Pause Resume Diagram

For example: Your most recent subscription payment was on Sunday the 7th (yellow). You pause on Saturday the 13th, which means your last delivery will be on the 14th. If you restart your plan on a Saturday the 20th (before your payment comes out on Sunday), you will receive the following Sunday's (pink) delivery on the 28th. But if you restart your subscription on Monday the 22nd your next payment won't go out until Sunday the 28th for the (green) delivery on the 4th.

How do I update my delivery address or credit card details?

Log in to your account and click on the text 'Edit account details for (your email address)'.

What do we get in a box?

Each box comes with up to 200g of free-range meat per portion. There will be a selection of different cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken. Along with freshly picked seasonal vegetables, some dairy products and dry goods. All meat will be vacuum-packed fresh and delivered in an insulated box with reusable ice-pack.

How do I pay?

You can pay by credit card or bank transfer (please email or messege us with your order and we will send you our bank account number). You can also start a plan (delivered weekly or fortnightly) so you never have to worry about forgetting!
If payment hasn’t been made by the cut off time, we will not be able to process your order for that week, but can accept the payment for the following week.

When is the order cut off for Sunday delivery?

Due to the labour intensive nature of what we do, and to ensure our suppliers have enough time to pick and deliver the freshest and best produce to us, the cut off for each week is 10.00pm Monday. This is the latest we can possibly accept your order and payment. If payment isn’t made by this time, we will consider your order unconfirmed and any payment made after this time will be carried over to the following week.

I’d like to order a one-off, will I have to commit to a subscription?

You can order a one-off, or choose to have a weekly, or fortnightly set up, whichever way you’d like.

I live out of your delivery area but would still like order?

You can nominate a delivery address inside our delivery zone, or to a workplace if you work on the Sunday.

I’m going on holiday for the week, can I pause my subscription?

Most definitely. If you want a break just send us a quick email and include your customer number. If you pay by credit card, you can log in to your account and pause your subscription yourself.Alternatively, if you pay by bank transfer, put a hold on your payment before Monday night.  Please note that if payment is made for that week and the product is ordered, you will be obligated to accept that delivery, we will make every effort to find a new home for your order, but in the off chance we cannot, please be aware you will still be liable for that week’s box.

Are the boxes and ice packs reusable?

Absolutely. We actively encourage recycling and reusing of our packaging. Simply leave the ice pack and flattened box outside for pickup when we deliver your fresh box. This will help keep our wastage to a minimum and is better for our environment.

Why is the meat vacuum packed?

This type of packaging is not only more hygienic and environmentally friendly than regular Polystyrene packaging used by supermarkets, but it’s safer as it inhibits bacteria growth. Because of the reduced oxygen flow, the meat can sometimes give off a stronger odour. This does not mean it is off. We recommend opening the packaging, rinsing the meat in COLD water and allowing it to air for 10-20 minutes - after this the odour should have disappeared.

What if I don’t like something in the weeks menu?

Give it a go you never know! But if you really don’t like an ingredient the recipes are written so ingredients can be left out or you can create your own meal. With the unused produce, try swapping with your neighbor or family.

How will I know what the weeks menu will be?

We will be updating our facebook page every Friday morning with the next weeks menu. You will also get an email to let you know.

Is everything for the meals supplied?

We will supply all the protein, fresh vegetable, cheese/yoghurt and most of the pasta/rice etc required. We will have a Cupboard Store list of things its best kept on hand to complete the recipes. These will be items such as spices, milk/cream, honey, oils and the occasional egg.

Organic options?

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on upcoming additions. We will be looking at sourcing an organic vegetable option for those that want it, along with an organic meat component. We will also be adding things like fruit bags and breakfast boxes on to help make other meals that little bit easier.

Fish Options?

Fish is a hotly debated topic in our Kitchen Headquarters. As we progress and fine tune our delivery service and recipe options, we will look at bringing an occasional fish recipe into the mix. We will however make it possible to opt out of the fish recipe, and replace it with a different recipe if you are not a fish lover.

How do I become a supplier?

We are always keen for new suppliers to come on board with fresh local produce. Contact us via the website, and we will get in touch with you and organise a time to come out and meet you, at your garden/orchard/farm. This is one of our favourite things to do!

How do I know you’re REALLY local?

With both Paul and Kate growing up in rural Hawke's Bay, they know how good it is to eat directly from Hawke's Bay soils and pastures. We source everything we possibly can directly from the grower/farmer, cutting out the middle man, and pay the grower a fair price for local quality produce. We try our hardest to buy 100% Hawke's Bay fresh produce, but due to seasonality and demand, sometimes we will be required to source further afield. But rest assured we will always be providing NZ produce.

What if we’re not home when you deliver?

When you fill in your delivery details please let us know where a safe place would be to leave your box. They are packed with an icepack, so it will be safe to leave out of the fridge for up to 6 hours out of direct sunlight. Once delivered the handling and storage of the produce is your responsibility.

Any questions or suggestions please get in touch. We would love to hear from you!
